Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet is continuing its international expansion programme and this time it is targeting the UK with its first free-standing store in the country.

Located in London’s upscale Mayfair district, it has just opened and becomes the 18th standalone international retail location for the brand. The label also has 25 stores in its domestic US market.

The UK flagship carries the ready-to-wear and accessories in addition to the brand’s recent ‘mommy and me’ collaboration with British kidswear brand Dotty Dungarees.

It’s located on shopping destination Bruton Street in a historic building. The 2,000 sq ft store is “true to Alice + Olivia’s whimsical style”,  featuring a hand-painted black and white floor, a red vintage Venetian glass chandelier, and antique glass display cases.

Visitors can also find “bold brass hardware, custom mid-century modern furniture with colourful hand embroidered flowers [that] highlight the opulence of the fitting room curtains”.

Those fitting rooms are “decadent” with the floral drapery in shades of crimson, green and blue making the space feel “bold and playful”. Inside the dressing rooms are quirky emerald green seats from up-and-coming interior designers.

A large skylight in the rear of the shop “frames the brightly hued floor-to-ceiling rose plaster art instillation, brought to life by London-based artists Nina Tillett and Gareth Knowles”.

Brand founder and creative chief Stacey Bendet said the company has been looking for the right location in London for several years.

“London is one of my favourite cities and Bruton is one of my favourite streets, I love the energy of the women, the elegance of the architecture, and the cultural depth and history represented everywhere,” Bendet added.
