American Apparel & Footwear Association reveals new chair, board of directors

The American Apparel and Footwear Association AAFA has revealed 16 new and re-elected board members at its executive summit in Washington, D.C.


For the 2023 to 2024 term, the U.S. fashion and footwear governing body revealed the appointment of Lululemon ​chief supply chain officer, Ted Dagnese, to the role of chair; Josue Solano froom BBC International as vice chair, Ralph Lauren Corp. chief product and sustainability officer, Halide Alagoz, as secretary; and Goldbug president and chief executive officer, Katherine Gold, as treasurer.

The new AAFA board of directors also includes Todd Soller, head of global supply chain at Patagonia, who was appointed on March 1.

Newly elected board members include Carhartt sourcing executive Danilo Amoretty; Luen Thai USA’s chief operating officer Lydia Ke, and PVH Corp.’s chief supply chain officer David Savman. Perry Ellis International, Under Armour, Li & Fung, Carters, Marc Fisher Footwear and Hanesbrands are among the re-elected brands on the AAFA board.

“I am honored to step into the role of chair of the board of directors at a time of ever-greater transparency, accountability, and inspiring industry leadership,” said Dagnese, who takes over the chair role from Sarah Clarke.

Ted's experience and breadth of knowledge across AAFA's core pillars will be a phenomenal asset,” said Steve Lamar, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association

"Thank you to Sarah Clarke for her leadership over the past term, and the full board of directors for their committed leadership and focus on industry advancement."

Clarke, head of supply chain at PVH Corp., took over as chair of the U.S. industry association in 2022. The role was previously held by the COO of Under Armour, Colin Browne, who steered AAFA during a term marked by the pandemic. ​
