Anonymous beauty industry insiders launch Biden Beauty in support of Biden/Harris

With the 2020 presidential election approaching, a mystery group of beauty industry insiders are attempting to wield the power of the beauty community through Biden Beauty, a newly launched beauty brand dedicated to rallying votes for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. 

The brand, which launched its Instagram page on September 30, is not officially connected to or backed by Biden or his running mate Kamala Harris, but 100% of its profits will be donated to the Democratic National Committee and the Biden/Harris campaign.  

The brand's star, and -- for the moment -- singular beauty product is the Biden Beat makeup sponge; a 'Democratic blue' dual-sided sponge aptly priced at $20.20. Other items sold by the brand include Biden Beauty pins and stickers, a Biden Beauty hoodie and a blue tote bag decorated with the slogan, "America is Beautiful."

In its premiere Instagram post, the brand emphasized its focus on Gen Z voters. 

"Voting is crucial and statistics show that Gen Z (those born between 1996 and 2015) can make or break this election," the brand said.

"For 2020, Pew Research projects one out of ten eligible voters will represent Gen Z, which will compose 24 million potential voters. But amount eligible Gen Z voters from the 2019 primaries, data showed only 30% voted, a historically low number."

"We have the opportunity to change this, America! Let’s empower ourselves to sign up to vote. Let’s encourage our friends and family to get to the polls. Let’s rise together and get our nation back on track. Let’s vote @joebiden & @kamalaharris on November 3rd."

The first of the 2020 U.S. presidential debates between Biden and incumbent President Donald Trump began on September 29, and will end on October 22.
