Canada's only apparel and textile sourcing show, Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada (ATSC), is once again expanding for its 2018 edition.

The tradeshow and conference, which debuted in Canada in 2016, will double in size this year and expand to include additional categories such as accessories, giftware, home electronics, footwear, luggage and housewares and general merchandise.

Taking place at Toronto's International Centre, August 20 to the 22, the trade show aims to connect Canadian retailers with the world’s major apparel and textile manufacturers.

“The growth of ATSC – which debuted in 2016 – is the result of increased interest among the Canadian public in manufacturing and importing apparel and textiles, as well as the general growth of international trade of higher-quality, ethically-manufactured products,” explained Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, in a news statement.

For a third year, event organizers have again chosen the Canadian city of Toronto to host the event.

“Toronto in particular has proven to be a hot spot for a show such as ATSC, with its residents originating from hundreds of different countries, a thriving retail and entrepreneurial environment and the economic strength of Canada in general being an attraction for industry players globally eager to do business in this country,” added Prescott.

The three-day show will include close to 600 exhibitors including for the first time in Canada the China Brand Show, which will occupy roughly one third of the exhibit space - some 100 Chinese enterprises in 150 booths - with a range of “Made in China” goods.

This year’s growth follows a 50 percent expansion of its show in 2017, which in addition to exhibits from Canada and China, will bring hundreds of apparel and textile manufacturers from around the world, including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the U.S., the U.K., Mexico, Colombia, Peru and many more.

For 2018, ATS is also expanding to Miami with a sister show happening this May.
