A few weeks after inaugurating their concept shop Apt.4B located at Row DTLA, in Los Angeles, Moon and Monique Moronta, the founders of the retailer, will unveil this Saturday, December 17, an exclusive collaboration with Adidas simply titled, 'The Door'.

Adidas x Apt.4B's collaboration

Apt.4B has colored the Adidas Forum low in dark green which is to represent the green project door that welcomes customers into their store. Dressed in luxury fabrics as suede, corduroy and leather, the 80’s basketball sneaker's appearance and feel is elevated while the removable strap, light cream mid sole and gum colored outsole pay homage to skateboarding culture.

Apt.4B added the Adi forum crest to side of the shoe as well, which is a detail that has never appeared on the low version of this model before and the Adi forum keychain that hasn’t been seen or used by Adidas on this model since the 90s. Another key feature of the Adidas Forum is the dellinger web. This nylon netting, found along the midsole, was created by Bill Dellinger, the Oregon track and field coach who replaced Nike founder Bill Bowerman, to distribute impact for smoother movement.

“The shoes colors are meant to welcome you into Apt.4B," explained Moon Moronta. "In literature and symbolism, a green door can sometimes represent a new beginning or the potential for growth and change.”

Shoes are limited to 150 pairs and will be exclusively sold at the Apt.4B concept shop in Los Angeles and through its e-shop from December 17.

Born on Fairfax Avenue in 2013, Apt.4B shop moved last November in a new location at shopping center Row DTLA. A concept shop which reflects a 90’s era New York City hustler’s apartment and presents a space dedicated to vintage curated by Crystal Robles and Ricky Li of Tried and True Co.

Next summer, Apt.4B will also reveal their collaboration with Vans and The Vault Line.
