Aquazzurra's new store has opened in New York. It is the first store inaugurated by the Colombian designer Edgardo Osorio's brand in the USA. The 200 m² shop is located on Madison Avenue. With its church-like interiors, it was conceived as a true temple of shoes, decorated in black and white marble, with gilded detailing and designer furniture.

Colombian designer Edgardo Osorio, the co-founder of Aquazzurra, loves globe-trotting and, at 30, is already a household name in the fashion industry and appreciated by celebrities the world over.

Aquazzurra operates 3 stores worldwide, in London, Florence and New York. The brand is distributed in 45 countries, sells online on 18 websites and is among the leading labels featured at the world's major luxury stores, such as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

The footwear label was founded in 2011 as an Italian company with headquarters in Florence, occupying a 500 m² suite of offices on Palazzo Corsini's top floor. Aquazzura confirmed the launch next month of its e-commerce website, which will initially cater to the European market and will subsequently expand to North America.

In a recent interview with Italian news agency ANSA, Edgardo Osorio revealed he is planning further Aquazzurra openings in Europe, Asia and the Middle East by the end of 2016, both mono-brand stores and shop-in-shops. In the summer he will also launch a first pop-up store.

In the same interview, the Colombian designer stated that he will open a 300 m² showroom in the centre of Milan, and that his brand's revenue more than tripled in 2015, and is set to more than double in 2016.
