As Covid-19 outbreak continues, Wolf & Badger temporary closes New York City and London stores

Multibrand retailer Wolf & Badger has announced that it will temporarily close its New York City and London stores in response to the outbreak of Covid-19.

In a statement from the company's founders, brothers Henry and George Graham, Wolf & Badger said that the stores in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood and in King's Cross will remain closed until March 31. All planned events set to take place during this time will be postponed.

While the stores are closed, the retailer's website will continue to run as usual.

"The health and safety of our widespread community of brands, customers, partners and team is top of mind as we see the Covid-19 situation continue to develop," the statement said.

The company, which focuses on promoting independent designers, further encouraged its customers to continue to support small businesses.

"Many of the independent brands we work with face challenging and uncertain times ahead," the founders said. "If you're able to do so, it is now more important than ever that we support small businesses to ensure that they continue to thrive."

Wolf & Badger is the latest in an increasingly long list of global brands and retailers who have announced temporary store closures in response to the coronavirus pandemic, including Signet Jewelers, Sperry, J.C. Penney, Foot Locker, Nike, Lululemon and more.

In January, Wolf & Badger reported record sales in 2019, attributed to a “consistent rise in overall global sales and strong performance from its flagship stores in London and New York," and recorded 9 million visitors to its online retail platform.
