The internationalisation of Spanish brands is key to the strategy of Asepri (Spanish association of products for children), which held the 6th edition of the Baby&Kids products from Spain trade show in Valencia on October 24 and 25.

The trade event hosted 32 national firms and 24 clients from around the world. "Asepri has established this annual trade meeting as a unique, personalised and exclusive event with a fixed schedule where key international players can discover our essence, creativity and design", the organisers explained.

The children's fashion category was represented in this edition by Babidu, Babybol, Canada House, Conguitos, Foque, Javilar Kids, Juliana, Losan, Mac Ilusion, Martin Aranda, Mayoral, Pan con Chocolate, Paz Rodríguez and Tutto Piccolo. The footwear offering was provided by Igor, Conguitos, Garvalin, Big Toes and Ria Menorca, while other childcare and accessories firms completed the list of participating brands.

In terms of buyers, the Saudi group Al Hokair stood out with its retail network of 180 shops; Almana Luxury, a Qatari department store focused on premium European brands; while the Lebanese childcare retailer Sarraf and La mere et l'énfant, a Tunisian retail chain and distributor, were also in attendance.

In addition, Armenia participated for the first time in the event with the Yeraz Kids Center stores and the Prince Princess and Reyma chains of shops and importers. In terms of European representation, the Kotryna chain, with 63 points of sale in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the Bulgarian chain Boyko and the Italian chains Primmi Anni and Io Bimbo, with 21 and 40 shops, respectively, took part in the event.

The goal of the Baby & Kids products from Spain event, organised by Asepri since 2015, is "for Spanish brands to have contact with hard-to-reach customers from different countries in order to generate business opportunities", the association explained. "This meeting allows companies to access more than 10 markets simultaneously from Spain and has established itself as an essential event for Spanish firms with international clients," they concluded.

The sector's next event will be the BabyKid Spain + Fimi fair, to be held from January 26 to 28 in Valencia, for which more than 290 brands from the industry have already confirmed their participation, according to Asepri.
