Asheville Outlets officially opens in North Carolina

Asheville Outlets in Ashville, North Carolina opened on May 1st to a phenomenal turnout of thousands of shoppers. The outlet is a one-stop shopping destination of factory stores from a number of American fashion and sports apparel companies including Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Cole Haan, Gap, J. Crew, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, and Vera Bradley.

The 325,000 square foot open-air retail center opened its doors following a Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00am Friday. Local officials and business leaders were in attendance including New England Development President Douglass Karp, Asheville Vice Mayor Marc Hunt, Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kit Cramer, and Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Stephanie Brown.
 
Karp remarked on the opening, "I'm thrilled to be here today to celebrate the Grand Opening of Asheville Outlets with the hundreds of people who have helped make this day possible. We truly appreciate the dedication of the men and women who have worked so hard on this project. I'm especially pleased to welcome the stores and the nearly 1,000 local employees who will be instrumental in making Asheville Outlets a special, regional shopping destination here in Asheville."

New England Development in partnership with Tremont Realty Capital developed the Outlets, which has created 1,300 jobs and $33 million in annual additional local income. 

Asheville Outlets has 50 stores from various industries in total with 6 additional stores opening soon.
