Niche perfumer Atelier Cologne is gearing up to open its first Canadian store in Toronto at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
The 625-square-foot boutique will open on April 14 where shoppers can discover a retail concept similar to that found in other parts of the world, from its Venetian blue storefront to its minimal, yet warm ambiance accented with industrial furniture, vintage lamps and stools discovered by the founders during their travels around the world.
“This first Canadian Atelier Cologne boutique marks a new chapter in the international expansion of the French Maison de Parfum and sets the tone for a true success story in Canada. We are very proud and excited to have this one-of-a-kind concept boutique for the first time in Canada to showcase and convey a unique brand experience to customers,” said Carl D Morisset, General Manager for L’Oréal Designer Brands, Canada.
In store, customers can shop an assortment of 32 Colognes Absolues - the boutique includes a focus on the Maison de Parfum’s best-selling franchises including the recently launched Iris Rebelle – and some 141 other products including soaps, body and hair shower gels, moisturizing body lotions, hand creams and a Home Collection of candles.
The store will also offer personalization services like with its leather cases for its refillable travel sprays that can be personalized with a name, initials or a specific message thanks to an engraving machine available on site.
For the store's opening, several gifts will be offered to the first 50 people. The brand will also be launching Le Journal Atelier Cologne, a 100 percent Canadian magazine dedicated to all things fragrance.
The niche perfumer was established in 2009 by founders Sylvie Ganter and Christophe Cervasel. It was later acquired by French cosmetic giant L'Oreal in 2016.
It operates 14 stores globally, including three in North America.
