Contemporary brand Anthony Thomas Melillo opened on Monday a freestanding retail location in the Hamptons just in time for the summer.

The East Hampton store, which is located on 20 Newtown Lane, is the brand's second retail location to open in the Hamptons and the first permanent store to open in the area. Last year, ATM opened a pop up on Newtown Lane that was very successful.

The 1,200-square-foot store houses the brand’s pre-fall collection and permanent items, such as t-shirts, dresses, camouflage sweat suits, and pants, and a few exclusive pieces. Melillo oversaw the store’s design and execution and says he wanted to exemplify the cozy, local feeling of many businesses in the beach village.

Upon entering, customers will be welcomed with a minimal interior design with natural white oak flooring, trim work and shelving, powdered blackened steel custom display racks, a staggered line of 30 mannequins in the store's center, and a large lattice-like wooden installation in the rear of the store. The store also features furniture that was designed by Melillo himself, such as a recycled black denim sofa bed and white oak framed mirrors.

"The beach is home for me and my family and I really love the cozy, local feeling," says Melillo. "I want to make sure the store is part of the community, just like Bostwick's is for an early Sunday dinner with the family, ATM should be a go-to in East Hampton. The brand's laid-back yet refined aesthetic lends itself so well to the lifestyle."

In addition, the East Hampton store opening doubles as the launch of the brand's first-ever footwear collection. The men's and women's footwear consists of two styles—slip-on and lace-up sneakers in suede and leather.

Anthony Thomas Melillo founded his namesake label in 2012, manufacturing his collection in Peru using high-quality Peruvian cotton, cashmere and silk. The brand opened its first freestanding store on Bleecker Street in New York City in February, and is carried in major department stores like Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.
