Authentic Brands and Thalía form partnership for global expansion
Singer, songwriter, actress and fashion designer Thalía Sodi has entered into a strategic partnership with Authentic Brands Group. The brand development company announced on Wednesday that it will manage the intellectual property of the Latin superstar.
Through this partnership, ABG and Thalía will partner to develop and expand the singer and designer’s brand through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Thalía currently designs a line of ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, jewelry and denim that has been available exclusively at Macy’s since spring 2015. Macy’s extended the program to include a line of intimates and shapewear that launched in July 2016.
“Thalía is an extremely talented individual with a very strong brand and we are excited to welcome her to the ABG family,” said Jamie Salter, Chairman & CEO of ABG. “Thalía’s brand is rooted in the Latin market and provides a clear path for ABG to bring its expertise to one of the most important and fastest growing consumer audiences in the world.”
Thalía Sodi has sold approximately 50 million records worldwide, and she had 28 Top 10 singles, 15 of which went to number one. In 2013, she was recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Authentic Brands adds Thalía to its growing list of brands that includes Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali, Marilyn Monroe and recently “Dr. J” Julius Erving. The ABG portfolio also includes fashion brands Juicy Couture, Tretorn and Aéropostale.
