Travel company Away has opened its first West Coast store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The new store joins the company’s first retail location in New York City that opened in 2016.

Founded by Steph Korey and Jen Rubio, Away offers luggage and travel products direct to the consumer. In 2016, the New York City-based company raised $8.5 million in Series A funding, and this year, the company raised $20 million in Series B funding from Forerunner Ventures and Accel Partners among others.
Away also recently partnered with the movie Despicable Me 3 to produce bright yellow luggage designed like the movie’s popular Minions.
The 1,200-square-foot store features a navy blue box exterior that resembles a hard case, and a sophisticated interior with white marble walls, wooden floors and white counters and shelves.
The full Away product range is available at the Melrose store, including the brand’s signature Carry-On range of hard rolling bags that have phone charging capabilities, and the store carries Away-approved products such as skincare from Malin + Goetz, Pop & Suki leather accessories and beauty products from Moon Juice.
