The Capsule Show and Axis have grown significantly since beginning their ongoing partnership in 2015. The trade fairs are taking things in a new direction with a merger and the debut of Axis' new curated section at Capsule in New York City and the newly announced Los Angeles show.
Axis at Capsule is the market’s most focused and comprehensive selection of contemporary brands, ranging from activewear, athleisure and athletic footwear to consumer electronics and intimates. The special section dedicated to the active lifestyle will debut at Capsule New York Women’s this September and will be a part of the debut Capsule Los Angeles Women’s show in October.
Axis expressed to the American press in March its plans to launch a West Coast show, but remained mum on the time and place. Axis and Capsule have partnered on three shows so far with the most recent show from last February being the biggest show to date.
Vanessa Chiu, Director of Axis, said, “Axis was born to service our industry’s niche needs. Strategically unifying with Capsule continues our community synergy. We’re focused on curating a newly integrated show section, a culmination of brands sitting at the crux of what makes Sports lifestyle a staple rather than a trend.”
Capsule announced the launch of the Los Angeles show in response to the growing demand from East Coast brands to show at LA Market. Capsule co-founder Deirdre Maloney said, “Demand for our niche of progressive and advanced contemporary labels is growing right now, especially on the West Coast, and we’re launching there in order to meet that demand.”
This merger aims to enhance Capsule’s position as the largest curated women’s market event. The new format will launch in New York, September 17-19, 2016 and in LA at the debut of Capsule Los Angeles, October 17- 18, 2016.
