Badgley Mischka unveils luxury luggage collection

American fashion label Badgley Mischka is set to launch its first-ever luxury luggage collection, just as the warming weather heralds the start of vacation season.
Made in collaboration between label co-founders Mark Badgley and James Mischka, and luggage manufacturer Naftali Inc., the collection's designs aim to combine style with function and are intended to help Badgley Mischka connect with a younger audience of travel fans, the label said.
The components of the luggage are made from durable-yet-lightweight ABS and PC film, while the multi-level trolley system is made from aluminum for strength and lightness. The entire collection is 25% expandable, and pieces feature both eight spinner wheels for easy rolling, which are paired as double wheels, allowing the luggage to handle heavy weight. Inside, pieces feature zippered pockets and elastic straps.
Within the main Badgley Mischka Luggage Collection, shoppers can find the Contour Collection, which features an embossed triangle pattern, as well as the Essence Print Collection, decorated with bright blues, yellows, floral and geometric prints. Pieces range from $320 for a 20-inch hard-shell wheeled carry-on, to $360 for a 24-inch medium-hard shell spinner-wheel suitcase, and $400 for a 28-inch large hard-shell spinner-wheel suitcase.
"By adding Badgley Mischka to our existing range of collections, we now can offer our customers new shapes, new colors, travel accessories and more," said Yosi Naftali, chief executive officer of Naftali, in a release. "Each piece is truly special and unique and beautifully embodies the glamour of the Badgley Mischka brand."
The Badgley Mischka Luggage Collection will make its official debut at the Travel Goods Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 26 through 28. The new collection will be available for purchase online at badgleymischka.com, as well as at other high-end retailers in early summer.
