Bape and Dr. Martens team up for dual-branded shoe and apparel capsule

Published
Jan 17, 2018

Britain meets Japan in the latest fashion collaboration as heritage-to-fashion footwear brand Dr. Martens is launching a footwear and clothing collaboration with Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape (Bape).

Dr. Martens/Bape

The limited edition collection includes two of Dr. Martens’ signature items (the 1460 boot and 1461 shoe) with the regular plain finish of each transformed by an ape head and camo motif.

The collection includes two 1460 boots in Dr. Martens signature colours (green and burgundy), as well as two three-eye shoes in the same colours.

But importantly, this is more than just a small-scale shoe collab with a matching clothing collection that also features dual-branding on each item. It includes topselling items such as graphic tees, as well as a button-down work shirt, and a tote bag, with all items set to drop in-store at the same time. We don’t know anything about pricing yet

It’s not the first time the two brands have teamed up, which is not a surprise given that they are a very good fit. The collection launches online and in-store later this month (January 27).

Bape also recently unveiled an upcoming collaboration with Adidas and NBA player Damian Lillard covering three basketball shoes.
