Bath & Body Works to launch Canadian online store

Bath & Body Works took to instagram this week to announce that a tailored online shopping experience is coming to Canadians as of this fall. 

Currently, Canadians can buy products and have them shipped to their home via the American online store by paying in U.S. dollars and accepting some hefty shipping fees. 

The brand first hinted at signs of a Canadian website earlier this year. No further details were revealed. The instagram announcement said to “stay tuned more details coming soon”.

While there are more than 100 Bath and Body Works stores across Canada, the Covid-19 crisis accelerated the need for a Canadian shop.

The L Brands-owned brand has been a bright spot for its parent company. In its first quarter of 2021, Bath & Body Works quarterly net sales were $1.47 billion, increasing 93.2 percent from $760.6 million in the prior-year period and 59.9 percent from $919.0 million in the first quarter of 2019. Comparable sales at the brand rose 16 percent compared to 2020.

L Brands is currently preparing for the spin-off of the Victoria’s Secret Brand into a separate company, which will leave Bath & Body Works free to pursue its growth plans, exploring potential for expansion both in North America and Europe.
