Fashion enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike consider the Bergdorf Goodman’s window displays to be sacred, so anytime that the luxury retailer features something new in its Fifth Avenue windows, it must be a big deal.
This week, Bergdorf is promoting the Spring 2016 Made-to-Measure event at its Men’s Store with a window display featuring tailored suits from Tom Ford, Isaia, and Giorgio Armani and rich photos from photographer James Houston’s series, Horse.
Shane Ruth, the Visual Director of Bergorf’s Men’s Store, explained why he included horses in the display: “For the Spring 2016 Made-To-Measure Event, I thought the minimal, yet strong image of a horse would work well with proportion, scale and strength being hallmarks of both fine, tailored clothing and champion horses. Working with award winning photographer James Houston and co-founder of James Houston Design, Michael Dimopoulous, we chose 4 beautiful images from James Houston’s photography series. Enlarging these photographs to the extra large size of our windows made these images even more powerful.”
Less is more in the window display, and it does not skimp on the luxury. The display features this year’s participating designers, which includes Ralph Lauren, Brunello Cucinelli, Ermenegildo Zegna, Belvest, Castangia, Tom Ford, Brioni, Giorgio Armani, Isaia, Gieves & Hawks, Kiton and Cesare Attolini among others.
The Bergdorf Goodman Made-to-Measure event is a seasonal promotion that highlights the designers and brands housed at the Men's Store's tailored clothing floor. The Spring 2016 edition will run from March 3 through March 13. All made-to-measure fees will be waived.
