Berluti buys shoemaker Anthony Delos

The artisan shoemaker Anthony Delos, specializing in custom men's shoes, has been acquired by Berluti this summer, according to information obtained by FashionMag.com. Since last Monday, Delos’s expertise is now an asset of the LVMH group's new company.

On July 17, Berluti completed its purchase of Delos Bottier & Cie, whose headquarters and workshops are located in Rosiers-sur-Loire near Angers, France. According to our information, the total assets of the company were part of the buyout. Delos has been self-employed since 2004 and has built a strong reputation with an upscale clientele, who he will now see in the showrooms of different Berluti boutiques. His company was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label (Living Heritage Company) in 2007. 

Although Berluti has not yet formalized both the acquisition or skills transfer, Anthony Delos started his role as shoemaker for Berluti on Monday, September 3, 2012. His new position for LVMH's only all-menswear brand also entails visits to Berluti's network of stores outside of France, slated to expand to more nearby locations such as London, where Berluti just opened a shop in Harrods. 



This acquisition seems to follow the same approach Berluti took with Arnys last June. The Parisian tailor specialized in made-to-measure and handmade bespoke menswear should eventually reap benefits for its artisans and its prestigious shop in the Rue de Sèvres by being part of the burgeoning Berluti empire.
