Bite Beauty to go 100% vegan for 2020, enters complexion category
Jan 8, 2020
Kendo-owned beauty label Bite Beauty has announced its plans to go 100% vegan in 2020, and will launch into the complexion category, with a new collection of products.
On January 10, Bite Beauty will launch new vegan formulations of its current lip products—particularly its ‘Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon’ and ‘Agave+ Intensive lip Mask’—to kick off the brand’s transition to producing only vegan formulations of its popular cosmetics.
The move makes Bite the latest cosmetics brand to join the growing go-vegan movement within the beauty community, joining fellow 100% vegan converts like Milk Makeup and Dermablend. Similiarly, retailers including Sally Beauty have also made the pledge to go vegan, alongside brands such as CoverGirl, which have introduced vegan lines.
Outside of its popular lip products, the brand will further broaden its portfolio with the launch of the ‘Changemaker Complexion System,’ a three-step line of longwear skin products that mark Bite Beauty’s debut complexion products. Available from January 10, the system includes two primers catered to different skin types, 32 shades of medium coverage foundation and eight talc-free shades of pressed powder. Prices range from $36 to $39.50.
"Bite Beauty has become such a beloved brand over the years, known for its feel-good and look-good lip products, so it was a natural next step for Bite to bring that love to categories in need of high-performance clean innovation," said Laure de Metz, Bite Beauty general manager.
"With the new complexion products, we are offering our clients the coverage they crave and the clean they deserve."
Bite’s new products will be available on the company's website, as well as via cosmetic retailer, Sephora -- both online and in-store -- and at Sephora concessions within J.C. Penney.
