Bluestar Alliance signs license for Brookstone with United Legwear & Apparel

Brand management company Bluestar Alliance LLC announced on Thursday that it has entered into a new licensing agreement with New York-based apparel and accessories manufacturer and distributer United Legwear & Apparel Co. (ULAC) for its recently acquired Brookstone brand’s upcoming Nap Cozy Sock collection.

 
The deal will see Fun Socks owner ULAC produce the hosiery collection in “super-soft nap fabric”, with the intention of making the socks ideal loungewear.
 
“The Brookstone brand has always been associated with comfort and our Nap Cozy Sock offering is in great hands with United Legwear & Apparel Co,” said Bluestar Alliance CEO Joey Gabbay in a release. “As we broaden our licensee roster, we are proud to be associated with such a high caliber partner.”

Bluestar Alliance and Bebe Stores, Inc. acquired Brookstone in October as part of a partnership between the two companies. At the time, plans were announced to expand the lifestyle brand’s wholesale distribution to retailers across America and abroad.
 
ULAC was founded 20 years ago as a joint venture with Puma North America and currently runs a varied license portfolio, which includes footwear brand Skechers, sportswear label Champion and outerwear brand Weatherproof, as well as hit video games Minecraft and Fortnite.
 
The company also operates a range of private-label brands and launched its wholly-owned Fun Socks brand earlier this year.
 
Brookstone’s Nap Cozy Sock collection is slated to launch in department stores and specialty retailers in the US and Canada in summer 2019.
