Italian fashion label Boglioli has opened its first mono-brand store in New York's NoHo district. "New York is the perfect city for our project," stated Boglioli's President and CEO Giovanni Mannucci. "We could not hope for a better setting: 10 Bond Street - he continued - is the right location to give increased visibility to our brand and our values." The 100 m2 Boglioli store is located on the ground floor of a new building designed by Annabelle Selldorf, distinctive for its terracotta tile façade.
The interior design is by Milanese duo Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran of Dimorestudio. They have created a strong contemporary mood, evident in the graphic minimalism of the interiors and the industrial materials, but infused with a natural feeling of warmth through the use of warm, vivid colours. Cold light illuminates the entire ceiling, made warmer by smoked-glass elements. The lighting fixtures consist of a long series of neon tubes within steel boxes.
"We wanted to stick to our original idea, introduced with the Milan store, of creating a men's shop with a traditional vibe, reinterpreted in a contemporary fashion," said the designer team. "We regard New York as a sophisticated industrial city, whose essence we distilled into concrete-coloured walls, aluminium shelving and fluorescent lamps. Velvet wall-panelling and fitted carpets make the ambience warmer, within a decidedly masculine environment."
