Bonnie Brooks recognized by the Retail Council of Canada

The Retail Council of Canada (RCC) has named former Vice-Chairman of the Hudson's Bay Co., Bonnie Brooks, as the 2017 recipient of RCC's Excellence in Retail Awards (ERA) Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award recognizes a family or an individual in retail “who has demonstrated outstanding business success and community service throughout his/her career and who has left an indelible mark on the industry”.
Brooks has had an illustrious 40-year career in fashion retail and marketing. She was the first female President and CEO at the Hudson's Bay Co and later became President of HBC with the integration of the USA Lord and Taylor, and ultimately served as Vice Chairman of HBC from 2014 until her departure in 2016. Prior to HBC, she spent 11 years in Hong Kong where she was President of the Lane Crawford Joyce Group and was equally Executive Vice President and General Merchandise Manager of Holt Renfrew in Canada.
Brooks joins passed recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award such as the founders of Roots Canada, Michael Budman and Don Green; the founders of Canadian Tire Corporation, The Billes Family; and most recently, former Country Manager of Costco Wholesale Canada, Louise Wendling.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Brooks at the Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala in Toronto on May 30, 2017.

Over the course of her career in Canada and abroad, she has mentored and shepherded the careers of many in this industry and has passionately supported careers in retail."
RCC is a not-for-profit industry-funded association and represents small, medium and large retail business in every community in Canada.
