Italian hatmaker Borsalino announced on Wednesday that it is expanding its retail presence to the U.S. with the opening of its first standalone pop-up store at Bal Harbour Shops in Miami.

Now open through to July 31, the 753-square-foot space offers the latest Borsalino collections for men and women, while reflecting the brand’s values, heritage and style DNA. It marks the first Borsalino store ever in America.
“This new Borsalino pop-up in Miami allows us to test our presence in the U.S., a market we strongly believe in with great potential. Americans have a very special and historical bond with our brand,” said Mauro Baglietto, managing director for Borsalino.
“Our retail plan continues to develop and the goal to grow in a balanced and sustainable way remains an important and integral part of the Borsalino strategic relaunch.”
The boutique is part of the Maison’s recent ongoing retail development. In the last 12 months, the brand has inaugurated stores in Mykonos, Milano-Linate and most recently Monte-Carlo. Looking ahead, the brand plans to open more Borsalino pop-ups over the course of the summer including in the most important Mediterranean destinations for luxury tourism.
In 2018, Borsalino was rescued from bankruptcy by Haeres Equita, a group of investors led by a Swiss-Italian financier. The company, founded in 1857, was put up for sale via an auction. It has since been committed to its revival by targeting a younger consumer base.
