Boss links with tennis star Matteo Berrettini for collection, campaigns
Jan 4, 2022
The Boss brand owned by Hugo Boss has unveiled a long-term partnership with Italian professional tennis player Matteo Berrettini and the launch of a standalone capsule collection co-created by the sports star.
The multi-year deal will see Berrettini being introduced as a Global Brand Ambassador for Boss, on and off the court. He will also appear in its global campaigns starting with the upcoming SS22 collections.
The new Boss x Matteo Berrettini collection is tagged as a summer offer but actually launches in the middle of this month. It will take in “both bold active designs as well as off-court essentials”.
It includes “a modern polo and innovative shorts with stretch [that] form the foundations for ultimate performance”. They’re branded with the new brand logo. A cap, wristband and more sustainable socks complete the look. For off the court, there’s also a contemporary T-shirt, a hoodie and casual pants – both with extra stretch. A percentage of all sales will be donated to Berrettini’s soon-to-be launched charity, supporting underprivileged children in Italy.
Hugo Boss CEO Daniel Grieder said the tennis star “is a great personality on and off court and we are more than excited to collaborate with him in the upcoming years. Matteo incorporates what a boss stands for today: showing a strong will, making the right decisions and inspiring people all around the world”.
