Farm Rio, which started as a small stand in a fashion market in Rio de Janeiro in 1997, will launch at Neiman Marcus this spring, in 31 locations, as well as online.

The Dallas-based premier luxury retailer will carry the brand’s range of colourful, tropical-inspired apparel, including 62 styles that feature a playful mix of colours, textures and patterns.

"Farm Rio is a free-spirited brand with bold and playful designs that we know customers will love," explained Lisa Kazor, senior VP, general merchandising manager, women's apparel, Neiman Marcus, in a news statement.

"We were drawn to the brand not only by the beautiful patterns but also by its give back efforts.”

As part of a partnership with the nonprofit One Tree Planted, Farm Rio donates one tree to be planted in the Amazon rainforest with every purchase.

Currently, Farm Rio operates over 70 stores in its home country, in addition to its new New York City location, which opened last April, and a store in Miami.

Likewise, the brand launched its U.S. e-commerce website in March last year. Previously, Farm Rio items were available in the U.S. through retailers like Shopbop and Anthropologie

Neiman Marcus said that in-store events are planned in March and April at Neiman Marcus Fashion Island, Neiman Marcus NorthPark, and Neiman Marcus Coral Gables, to celebrate the launch.
