Broadway Plaza to add 45 retailers and expand Macy's by holiday 2015

Macerich announced Monday that Broadway Plaza mall in Walnut Creek, CA will undergo a renovation and expansion, and will add 45 retailers to its roster.
 
The renovation will add 315,000-square-feet of new space, including parking, outdoor amenities and new finishes on the interior. Anchor retailer Macy’s will also undergo an expansion, which will result in the addition of 57,000-square-feet.

The redesigned Macy’s store slated to be complete by this November will debut a new handbag floor; cosmetics department; fine jewelry and fashion departments; fine watch and fashion watch departments; men’s department that will move from a separate location to Broadway Plaza; and new restrooms.
 
"The major update and redesign of our trophy property at Broadway Plaza is another example of Macerich's ability to successfully densify our fortress retail centers to meet retailers' expansion needs, as well as offer our shoppers an enhanced and upgraded store selection," said Art Coppola, Chairman and CEO, Macerich.

A number of retailers will move into Broadway Plaza this fall including Allen Edmonds, Athleta, Eileen Fisher, J. Crew, Kit & Ace, Lou & Grey, Lululemon, Madewell, Michael Kors, Pandora and Vince Camuto among others.
