Brooks Brothers is opening an exhibit in Grand Central Terminal that will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the brand. History, innovations and iconic fashion items will all be on display as well as limited-edition product.

"Brooks Brothers has assembled an immersive exhibition that traces the accomplishments, cultural significance, and global influence of the brand as it sets its sights on the next 200 years," explains the exhibition announcement from Grand Central Terminal.

Men's and women's looks, artifacts and imagery are curated to tell the journey of both the brand and American style on the whole. A limited-edition collection of accessories including pocket squares and ties, as well as other gift items, will also be available for sale.

Visitors to the exhibition will be greeted with an 18-foot-tall multimedia installation in the shape of the brand's logo. Video screens will show the brand's evolution and how it has been worn by celebrities, politicians, the US military, and other cultural icons throughout history.

The exhibition begins with the brand's formation in 1818 and will focus on key moments in American fashion history, including the Roaring Twenties and Mid-Century style. It will also highlight Brooks Brothers' role in cultural history, noting that the brand has dressed 40 of 45 American presidents, as well as Hollywood-based and global celebrities.

Among the looks shown include some of the first ready-to-wear suits offered to men in the 19th century, button-down oxford shirts, and ties.

The Brooks Brothers "200 Years of American Style" will open August 6th and run through September 5th in Vanderbilt Hall in New York City's Grand Central Terminal. It is free and open to the public.
