For the four weeks ended March 3, 2019, the Kearney, Nebraska-based retailer announced net sales of $59.4 million, a 7.2% decrease from the $64.0 million reported in the prior-year period.

Comparable-store sales were also down 6.8%.

Buckle previously reported that its January net sales plummeted 17.9%, a decline accompanied by a comparable sales decrease of 2.2%, while in December of last year, net sales decreased 6.7% and comps slipped 0.2%.

Last month, the company also reported sales declines for the fourth quarter ended February 2, 2019, revealing that quarterly comparable sales fell 0.6%, while net sales were down 3.1%.

On Thursday, the retailer announced that it will report its fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 financial earnings on the morning of Friday, March 15, 2019.

Known for its wide denim selection, Buckle currently operates 450 retail stores in 42 US states, compared to 456 stores in 43 states at the same time last year.
