Fusing luxury and sustainability has been a Burberry hallmark over recent years. So its next move in that direction is certainly an interesting one. The London fashion house has collaborated with France’s DAB Motors to release an exclusive electric motorcycle.

Named the Concept-E RS Burberry Edition, the urban electric motorcycle is made to be "agile, fun to ride and has a lighter footprint on our planet”, said the co-producers.

And as you’d expect, there’s an accompanying limited-edition fashion collection curated by Riccardo Tisci.

The motorcycle is available in two colourways and features bespoke logo bodywork, a hand-stitched TB monogram saddle in Burberry leather and customisable handlebars. We’re told the 10kW motor is the legal equivalent of a 125cc engine, meaning it can be ridden with just basic training in many countries, including the UK.

And the bike, which will be on display at some of Burberry's flagship stores including London, Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, comes with high-end pricing at €29,900, including VAT.

“In keeping with Burberry’s commitment to innovate and go beyond in finding more sustainable ways to feed the desire for exploration”, the design is the first street-legal version of the French manufacturer’s electric concept motorcycle. And by using an electric power source, “it provides a more ecological way to enjoy the freedom of open spaces”, the pair added.

Simon Dabadie, CEO and founder of DAB Motors, added: “I created DAB Motors through a fashion and design enthusiast vision, I wanted to present the motorcycle as a true fashionable device capable of generating desire and expressing identity.”
