Burberry has appointed its first female ambassador from South Korea as the British luxury fashion house continues its focus on widening its exposure in Asian markets.
Actress Jun Ji-hyun joins its growing list of celebrity ambassadors from key Asian markets. She's appeared in several successful films including The Thieves and The Berlin File, and her most notable projects include Netflix zombie thriller Kingdom: Ashin of the North and Assassination – which was the highest-grossing Korean film of 2015.
Calling her appointment “a great honour”, she added: “The timeless elegance of Burberry inspires me greatly, I look forward to working closely with the time-honoured house and carefully collaborating together.”
Asia is a hugely important market for the label and she joins England-based South Korean footballer Son Heung-min in the roster.
Burberry also recently added Thai actor and singer Bright Vachirawit to its line-up of key celebrity spokespeople. He's best known for his leading roles in award-winning drama series 2gether: The Series and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, which also brought him to international attention.
