Burberry: promotions for Andrew Maag and Pascal Perrier

Published
Aug 21, 2013

The British group Burberry gave new strategic and operational functions to its regional presidents. Andrew Maag, CEO Europe since 2010, will now assume responsibility for the Middle East, India and Africa as well. Pascal Perrier, who has been overseeing Burberry’s expansion into China and Asia since 2007, was named CEO for Asia-Pacific, a region that “continues to deliver strong growth” for the group.

Pascal Perrier joined Burberry in 2005, and since 2007 has overseen the introduction of Burberry into the Chinese market, notably in the “retail travel” sector. His new mission will encompass both strengthening the group’s activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region and developing the Burberry beauty division, one of the major challenges facing the British group.

Another aspect of his new role will be the integration of Burberry’s Japanese activities, currently operating under a licensing agreement that expires in 2015.

Andrew Maag joined Burberry in 2006 as senior vice president of menswear, before being promoted in 2010 to the post of president for Europe. His recent projects have included developing the retail network for the group’s labels in the Middle East, Africa and India, as well as the historic opening of the Burberry flagship megastore on Regent Street in London. His next big task will be building Burberry’s beauty division in the EMEIA markets as well as in Russia.
