The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) has launched a new Facebook Live series.

Dubbed 'Live with CAFA', the series features guest hosts who will answer questions and give guidance on today’s most pressing issues, including on topics such as finance, mental health, marketing, legal support, and more.

The initiative launched in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic, in an effort to support the Canadian fashion industry.

“We all know this is a very hard time for many people working in various roles in our industry. Many have written to us asking questions around what funding is available for small business, what are the best strategies to implement, and how to communicate with customers at this time,” explained CAFA’s president Vicky Milner, in a news statement.

“I strongly believe that only through working together will we overcome our current challenges. We need to bind together, pool our resources, and truly help each other. The strength and the collaboration between our community has never been more important than today.”

The first episode went live on CAFA’s Facebook page on Thursday morning, with new episodes expected every Tuesday and Thursday.

Donna Bishop, host of FashionTalks podcast and the Director of Programming for CAFA, kicked-off the first episode. The second episode will be hosted by personal finance expert Bruce Sellery.

CAFA will be announcing up-coming speakers via social media in the weeks to come.

CAFA announced last week that it would postpone the 2020 edition of its annual awards show. It was initially set to take place on May 29 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

The annual awards gala is one of Canada’s only awards night that recognizes Canadian-based designers and various members of Canada’s fashion industry.
