Camille Omerin launches Maison Père at Designers Apartment

Published
Mar 6, 2015

A graduate of Mod'Art International, Camille Omerin subsequently studied at FIT in New York and ISTEC in Paris, where she obtained a masters in entrepreneurship. She learned firsthand about luxury at Lanvin, Balmain, Chanel and then at L’Atelier de Chloe with a stint there as product manager for women. "It’s not the profile of an artist designer, but rather a well-organized spreadsheet with a deep creative sensibility, and thirst to design and to take action."

In March 2014, she launched her brand Maison Père. "It is a complete and elegant women's wardrobe, accompanied by male-inspired suit pieces," said the designer, for whom the choice of noble materials, all Italian, - wool, cashmere, silk, fur - and the cuts, position the brand as 'advanced contemporary," somewhere between a Carven, a Joseph and a Phillip Lim.

Manufactured in Eastern Europe and Portugal, Maison Père’s first winter collection targets women aged 20 to 45 and offers a boyish look with feminine details.

Key pieces include coats incorporating removable quilted jackets, a 3 in 1 convertible jacket/vest (600-1,200 euros), jackets with fur insets, knits (200-400 euros) and jerseys featuring a series of pieces incorporating colt hide, dresses with sweatshirt style tops and polo dresses embroidered with Swarovski crystals (300-900 euros).

Also noteworthy: the choice of two-tone pants, an old tile print dress, a blouse and sweaters, a high waist skirt coming in three colors, a short sweater, pleated knits, parkas and sweaters featuring baby goat fur insets.

The accessories line includes everything from footwear to pony leather and grained calfskin chain strap purses, to hats, manufactured by the same suppliers of Borsalino.

First launched in the US - the brand was presented for the first time at CD Network in New York -, Maison Père has found six points of sale for its first winter in the United States, at Harvey Nichols in Riyadh, and at the Baycrews department store in Tokyo. The brand is also present in Japan via Diptrics (which distributes AMI, Jacquemus and Pigalle) and will be available in Paris at the Le 66 Champs-Elysées concept store.

In a few days, the designer will open her new showroom on Rue Vignon near the Place de la Madeleine (8th arrondissement), and will launch an e-shop in July before inaugurating the brand's first pop-up store in September.
