Canada Goose names Ana Mihaljevic as new chief commercial officer

Toronto-based outerwear Canada Goose announced on Wednesday that it has promoted luxury apparel industry vet Ana Mihaljevic to chief commercial officer, a role in which she replaces Rick Wood, who will now serve as executive advisor on key strategic projects.

In her new role, Mihaljevic will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global commercial business, including sales planning and operations, and will be expected to drive growth in the wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels, while also pushing international expansion.

The executive has worked at Canada Goose since 2015, having most recently served as senior vice president for planning and sales operations. Since joining the company, Mihaljevic has significantly optimized the brand’s operations and was also responsible for establishing and developing its planning team.

Prior to this, she spent more than a decade working in a range of executive roles at luxury apparel brands including Marc Jacobs, Jones Apparel and Ralph Lauren.

“Ana is a passionate leader with an intuitive entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to execute flawlessly in a high-growth and always-evolving organization,” said Canada Goose President and CEO Dani Reiss in a release. “This promotion reflects her success in rising to the challenge of leading our continued global growth as we build this brand into an enduring legacy.”

In his new position, Mihaljevic’s predecessor Rick Wood will now advise Canada Goose on a number of commercial endeavors and will work closely with the company’s recently acquired Baffin Limited business. Wood has more than 20 years of experience in retail, apparel and footwear, having notably served at VF Corporation-owned brands The North Face, Vans and Timberland.

“I am grateful for all of Rick’s accomplishments over the last two years, most notably in completing his mandate to bring together our commercial processes into a single, collaborative and dynamic function. I am very excited to work with him in this new capacity,” added Reiss.

The last few months have been a period of big milestones at Canada Goose, which recently opened its first ever store in China and will be making its brick-and-mortar debut in France and Italy later this year.

The company, which is also driving expansion in North America, announced the opening of its eighth Canada-based manufacturing facility at the end of April.
