Canada Goose repents with a collaboration with Reformation

Heavily criticized last year for its use of coyote fur, Canadian brand Canada Goose, which pledged to abandon the use of fur in its collections by the end of the year, is continuing its repentance by signing a collaboration with Los Angeles-born sustainable brand Reformation.

Boasting the use of recycled materials, the collection is "made from responsibly sourced down," says Canada Goose, a certification under the Responsible Down Standard, an international voluntary program that monitors the chain of custody for certified materials and ensures that RDS down standards are maintained throughout the entire supply chain.

"The seven-piece collection includes reversible vests, parkas and sweaters made in recycled performance satin fabric" says the label. It features typical Canada Goose materials, such as a recycled, one-hundred-percent nylon ripstop. Also included in the collection is a colorful scarf, a new category for Canadian brand. 

The pieces come in vintage-style patterns and prints that are part of the brand universe of Reformation, a brand founded in 2009 by Yael Aflalo in Los Angeles, which has made a name for itself by offering collections made from deadstock fabrics and repurposed vintage clothing. 

The Canada Goose x Reformation collection will be available worldwide on the brands' respective websites as well as at select multi-brand stores starting December 6.
