Canada Goose teams up with Opening Ceremony
Perhaps it wasn't the biggest surprise of the show from Opening Ceremony to introduce its Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collection. The New York label founded by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim delivered a collection that pays tribute to migrants settling in America and to diversity.
A show that drew inspiration from a range of cultures, presenting items worn by women of all races and of diverse age and morphology, with actress Whoopi Goldberg enjoying a catwalk cameo too.
Among the garments on show, Opening Ceremony also featured the fruit of a directional collaboration with Canada Goose. The New York fashion label and the Canadian specialist in Arctic weather outerwear have created an eight-piece collection infusing the Canada Goose essentials with an urban vibe. Take for example the Langford parka or the Chilliwack bomber jacket, both with a silk lining. For each model, the two brands will produce limited edition versions in silk and paisley print.
The collaboration signals Canada Goose's desire to add a more urban, fashionable touch to its signature models.
