Toronto-based outerwear brand Canada Goose opened a new store in West Edmonton Mall last month, marking the company’s first store in the region.
The approximately 5,000 square-foot-store is located on the second floor of what is the largest shopping mall in North America, where fellow Canadian retailers Mackage and Matt & Nat, recently opened as well.
Among its store features, the Edmonton store houses Canada’s second and biggest ‘cold room’ where customers can test the brand’s parkas in temperatures as low as -25 Celsius.
It will showcase the full assortment of the brand’s outerwear, knitwear and accessories, as well as seasonal collections and collaborations.
The new location is one of six store openings that Canada Goose announced back in April, including two store openings in Europe, one in the United States and three in Canada.
In Canada, its second Toronto location at CF Sherway Gardens will open later this year, as well as a location at Cascade Shops in Banff, Canada’s most visited national park.
It is also still expected to open its first store in Italy on Via della Spiga, one of the most sophisticated streets in Milan’s Fashion District, and in Paris, on Rue St. Honoré, home to the world’s most exclusive boutiques.
Finally, in the U.S., Canada Goose will open its fifth location in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Mall of America.
It currently operates 14 company stores including five in Canada. Most recently, it opened its Montreal flagship.
Canada Goose has been in expansion mode since going public in 2017, venturing into retail and expanding into new product categories.
Founded in 1957, the company currently has stores in London, Toronto, New York, Boston, Chicago, Calgary and Tokyo, among others.
The company has previously said that it plans to open to 20 stores globally by 2020.
