Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards launches design challenge
Jul 25, 2016
The Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards has partnered with the Toronto Maple Leafs to find two local designers to create a men’s and women’s capsule collection for the team’s Centennial Season.
To enter the fashion design challenge, contestants must submit sketches of a capsule collection. The capsule collection consists of a tailored tee, a full zip fleece hoody, a hat, a scarf, and more, for both men and women.
“The goal is to create a unique collection that can outfit all of Leafs Nation as they look to rep their team pride on the streets of Toronto every day, so keep your target audience and wearability in mind,” the submission guidelines read.
Winners will be selected by an official Judging panel along with votes from the public. Judges include MUCH/MTV personality Liz Trinnear, CAFA stylist of the year George Antonopoulos, Flare Magzine Editor in Chief Cameron Williamson and more.
The winners will receive a $25,000 cash prize to help pursue design passions and will have their collection featured, and showcased at the 2017 Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards.
The contest submission deadline is September 26, 2016. Contestants can submit their designs at leafsfashionchallenge.com.
