Mauve overload, sensational sparkle and sexy sheer set the tone at Cannes on Thursday with the 24th edition of the amFAR gala, the French Riviera's most lavish AIDS fundraiser adding an extra dose of fashion magic into the mix.

After Elle Fanning's ultraviolet Degas ballerina-inspired look by Rodarte on Wednesday, Italian model and Vincent Cassel's latest squeeze, Tina Kunakey stole the show in a dangerously low-cut mauve Armani Privé's Giorgio Armani Privé gown.
Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere struck a pose in a breathtaking lacy green creation by Jean Paul Gaultier. The one-shoulder design featured beautifully draped ruffle-trimmed tulle worn over a leaf print underlay dress.
At amFAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala, Australian actress Melissa George's shining moment came as she stepped out in a strapless gold chantilly lace and black tulle dress by Schiaparelli. Subtle sparkle and skin-revealing splits added extra drama.

Dutch beauty Doutzen Kroes sizzled in a fiery orange and scarlet one-shoulder dress by Prada while fellow models Lara Stone Irina Shayk (both wearing Prada), and Neelam Gill (Balmain) joined the amFAR glitterati -- wearing shimmering sequin-spangled gowns.
Bella Hadid and Argentinian model Camila Morrone worked the sheer trend to the max with a little help from London-based luxury label Ralph & Russo. Hadid donned a crystal-embellished draped gown while Morrone's stunning pale cyan chantilly lace gown with tulle ruffled skirt ticked all the Cannes style boxes.

It is fair to say that Morrone's cross hatch sequin and crystal embroidered bodice gave Hadid's scantily clad headline-making look a run for its money.
