Capsule New York Men’s to head to Pier 92

For the last few seasons, menswear trade shows have tried to simplify travel for show attendees with shuttle buses and car services. Capsule and Liberty Fairs are doing more to make things simpler for show goers by moving right next door to each other.

The Capsule Show will be moving to Pier 92 on the West Side Highway in Midtown Manhattan right next to Liberty Fairs, which will be returning once again to Pier 94. In addition, the show dates have moved to January 26-28 to accommodate the NYFW: Men’s presentation schedule and the European travel schedule of buyers and editors.
 
“Our alignment with Capsule for the upcoming season is one more step towards a new era focused on the spirit of collaboration,” said Sam Ben-Avraham, Founder, Liberty Fairs. “Since Liberty’s inception we’ve maintained our position that collaboration can exist amongst competition. In addition to our alliance with Capsule, we’ll be continuing our partnership with Erin Hawker’s NYMD at Liberty NYC.”

This may be Capsule and Liberty Fairs’ first partnership in New York City, but they are no strangers to collaboration. The two trade show companies share the Venetian venue for their respective Las Vegas shows. Capsule has also held two successful Women’s RTW shows at Pier 94 this year, though that did not impact the decision. The move is an attempt from both companies to make the Piers the new hub for menswear.
 
“Our venue move to the centrally-located Pier 92 is an attempt to make attending market week as simple and time efficient as possible for the buyers in town for market,” said Capsule co-founder Deirdre Maloney. “Our ability to continue to offer a sharply edited presentation of the world’s most influential emerging brands in a more centralized, easy to reach location, with more accessible show hours, conveniently located alongside Liberty will allow us to offer better, more personalized service to retailers.”
 
Capsule New York Men’s and Liberty Fairs New York Men’s will be held from January 26 through 28.
