April 6 - France's Carrefour, the world's second-largest retailer, is committed to Belgium, Chief Executive Lars Olofsson said on Wednesday.

Carrefour carried out heavy restructuring of its business in Belgium last year, including the closure of hypermarkets and supermarkets and the sale of some shops to Belgian rival Mestdagh.
"There is nothing that says to me that we should reconsider the decision we took last year. On the contrary, we are now going ahead with rolling out our commercial programme in Belgium," Olofsson told reporters on the sidelines of a conference in Brussels.
Carrefour experienced its first quarterly sales growth in six years in Belgium in the October-December period.
