Carson Street to close on June 30

New York City menswear retailer, Carson Street will close its doors on June 30. The announcement comes just one day after co-founder Brian Trunzo said he will part ways with the retailer to pursue other endeavors.

Carson Street, formerly known as Carson Street Clothiers, opened its doors in March 2013 and quickly became a premier destination for men’s apparel and accessories with designers and brands such as Michael Bastian, Ovadia & Sons, Ami, Patrik Ervell, Christophe Lemaire, Tim Coppens, Greg Lauren, Umit Benan and Jil Sander among others.

The retailer first opened on Crosby Street in SoHo and moved to a much larger retail space on Greene Street in January 2016. Co-founders Trunzo and Matt Breen also planned to expand its retail presence to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago or Washington DC in 2017, but this is no longer the case.

Breen issued a statement saying, "I believe the best way that I can make a difference in this industry, as well as honor our loyal customers, is to continue putting forth a vision of how I believe men should approach luxury and designer clothing...I am thrilled to now have more time to thoughtfully consider and design Deveaux."

Deveaux launched in January 2016 and presented its first collection at NYFW: Men’s in February. The luxury menswear label co-founded by the Carson Street founders and Patrick Doss will be carried at Totokaelo, United Arrows and Spruce, and it will present its spring 2017 collection this July.
