Cerruti appoints Catherine Vautrin as CEO

Published

The ready-to-wear brand, property of Chinese group Li & Fung, has just named Catherine Vautrin, Emilio Pucci’s former president, to the post of chief executive officer, replacing Florent Perrichon. Her mission will be to position the brand as a major player in the menswear market and a leading luxury brand.

From 2000 to 2007, Catherine Vautrin served as the president of Emilio Pucci which was bought at the time by LVMH. She was already familiar with the luxury group having previously worked at Louis Vuitton from 1992 to 2000. At first she was in charge of developing the image of Louis Vuitton shops around the world, before becoming the label's director of ready-to-wear collections for men and women.

As well as running her own consulting practice in Italy, Vautrin has also been a member of the board of directors at Yoox since 2009. Now she will be in charge of Cerruti which was recently bought this year for 53 million euros by Chinese giant Trinity Ltd. (Li & Fung group), a luxury menswear retailer and distributor in China, Hong-Kong and Taiwan. Cerruti is now solely dedicated to menswear, a segment in which it aims to be a leading luxury brand by offering exclusive products such as Made in Italy suits that cost around 2,000 euros. Its leather goods section is also being developed by focusing on premium products and accelerating its expansion in China.
