Champion named official outfitter for Harlem Globetrotters

Champion Athleticwear has become the official uniform and apparel provider of The Harlem Globetrotters, and will launch a new Globetrotters uniform this month in honor of the basketball team's 2018-19 Fan Powered Tour of North America.

As part of the multi-year partnership, Champion will provide the Globetrotters with all on-court and travel apparel, including player uniforms, warm-ups, t-shirts, jackets, pants, hoodies, jerseys, shorts and socks – notably excluding headwear and footwear. Additionally, Champion will begin selling the team's official apparel in their stores worldwide. 

The new special uniform will mark the team's first new uniform outside of special events in 20 years. Keeping to the team's traditional red, white and blue color scheme, the new design will feature micro mesh material made to manage heat and moisture, and a new more fitted style for women's uniforms.

To promote the new partnership, Champion hosted a special event at its New York City flagship, where Harlem Globetrotters players put in an appearance to sign autographs and take photos, and commemorative issues of the new uniform were available for purchase. 

The limited-edition uniforms will continue to be sold in arenas throughout the Globetrotter's Fan Powered tour beginning in December, while special Globetrotter hoodies and t-shirts will be available in-arena and online on the team's website. 

Champion will further support the partnership with sponsored signage, social media promotion, merchandise stand integration, VIP experiences and hospitality.

The Globetrotters, known for their live performances of impressive basketball stunts and counting Wilt Chamberlain, Meadowlark Lemon and Marques Haynes among their Hall of Fame players, will play in more than 250 locations in North America and 30 countries worldwide over the course of their upcoming tour.
