Champion opens Boston store

Champion Athleticwear has opened its fourth brick-and-mortar store in Boston, Massachusetts.

The 2,824-square-foot Boston store will offer the brand's range of apparel and its newly refreshed footwear line - Via Champion

Located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, the store is situated near two of the city's main subway and highway entrances on a popular eight-block stretch of retailers, restaurants and boutiques.

The 2,824-square-foot store will offer the brand's range of apparel, including sweatshirts, hoodies and joggers in the brand's patented Reverse Weave, as well as Champion's newly refreshed footwear line. According to Champion, national and local collaborations will be featured in the store on a regular, rotating basis.

In a tribute to its new city, the Back Bay store will also offer a range of store-exclusive items, including a T-shirt designed by Artists For Humanity, a non-profit organization employing and empowering young artists in the Boston area, and a Boston capsule collection.

Like the brand's other stores, the Boston store will offer on-site customization, featuring both Champion and exclusive Boston-themed patches as well as embroidery options.

Joining Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City, the Boston store is the newest addition to the brand's brick-and-mortar presence.

“Building on the success of our 2018 store openings in major cities around the country [...] we are excited to end the year on a high note and carry momentum into 2019 with our newest store opening in Boston,” said David Robertson, director of Champion brand marketing. “The city has long been a Northeastern stronghold for the Champion brand."

Drawing customers in with an exterior brick wall mural by Artists For Humanity, customers who venture inside will find an interior decorated with the brand's heritage products, including a custom trophy display and reclaimed basketball gym wood fixtures.

To promote its grand opening, the Boston store will give a limited-edition tote bag designed by Artists For Humanity to the first 500 customers to shop the store.
