Chanel opens its first footwear boutique in the US

Chanel has opened a boutique exclusively for footwear in the US with an opening in Honolulu in Hawaii.

The French luxury label’s new store comprises 100 sq meters in the Ala Moana Centre on the same floor as an existing 600-sq-m Chanel store that offers clothing and accessories. The larger location has just reopened after a major revamp.

Both stores were designed by architect Peter Marino, inspired by local Hawaiian culture, according to Chanel.

The new shoe store is decorated in soft tones with a backdrop of black and white and walls in muted gold. There are also comfortable sofas in pale neutrals and blue.

It features the full Chanel footwear offer from the main seasonal collection as well as items from its pre-season offer.

This is not the first time the label has opened a footwear-only store with a temporary boutique. Chanel also opened a shoes-only location at its rue Saint-Honoré flagship in Paris, on the corner of the rue Cambon. That store closed in late January. Chanel has also opened a shop-in-shop just for footwear at Tsum in Moscow.
