Charlotte Russe achieves 1 million downloads on PredictSpring-powered app

Charlotte Russe on Monday announced a 1 million download milestone for its shopping app. Launched in July 2016, the Charlotte Russe app combines mobile and in-store shopping with social media, with features such as a shoppable Instagram feed and real time in-store inventory.

The Charlotte Russe app powered by PredictSpring

Made in partnership with PredictSpring, customers can browse the Charlotte Russe Instagram feed and buy products instantly, and they can check item availability in any of the 550 Charlotte Russe stores. PredictSpring also powers mobile commerce for brands such as Calvin Klein, Skechers, Nine West, New York & Company, Vineyard Vines, and Claire’s.

“Our customer demands instant gratification and the ability to shop with the single touch of a button, anywhere and anytime on their mobile device,” said Carrie Welch, SVP of Digital Experience, Charlotte Russe. “Speed is essential to our customer and pivotal to building brand loyalty.”

Almost all consumers have at some point been dissuaded from making a purchase due to a poor e-commerce shopping experience. A report from Episerver found that 98% of shoppers have not made a purchase because of incomplete or incorrect information on a website. Speed and precision are essential for conversion.

In addition, a report from Consumer Technology Association found that two-thirds of US consumers shop via mobile. Although, most US consumers shop via mobile device, they prefer to shop on websites instead of apps. The Charlotte Russe app has a competitive advantage with Apple Pay, which Welch believes "has proven key to driving increased conversion."

Charlotte Russe joins a number of fashion brands such as Nike, Adidas, Hollister and other retailers that have launched dedicated shopping and discovery apps. The retailer managed to rope in 1 million downloads due to a unique approach that captures mobile and Internet native shoppers.
