Chiara Ferragni launches make-up line
Italian social media star Chiara Ferragni has added a new dimension to her brand by dropping her first make-up collection. The Italian influencer has announced the launch on Instagram, where she has over 25 million followers.
Ferragni’s first make-up line notably includes lipsticks and eyeshadow in a range of colours, priced between €21.50 and €49. It is available on the Chiara Ferragni e-shop and at Douglas perfumeries in Italy, Spain and Portugal, as well as on the German perfumery chain’s e-shop. Douglas stores are also planning to host special pop-up corners for Chiara Ferragni make-up in future.
A shrewd businesswoman, Ferragni already features various product categories, from women's ready-to-wear to leather goods, jewellery and childrenswear, with her Chiara Ferragni Collection label. In September, the 34-year-old fashion influencer teamed up with Safilo to launch her first eyewear line.
Ferragni first came to the fashion world’s attention on October 12 2009 when, aged 22, she launched The Blonde Salad, a fashion and art-of-living blog. She was one of the first bloggers in Italy to post pictures of her outfits, often lensed in the streets of Milan. Various luxury groups have since opened their doors to Ferragni: in April, Italian fashion group Tod's appointed her to its board of directors and, a few days ago, Louis Vuitton picked her as the face of the campaign for its new high-heeled slingback shoes, the LV Archlight Slingback model.
