Chris Brown collaborating with Asics

On Monday night, R&B singer Chris Brown announced via Instagram that he is collaborating with Japanese footwear company Asics.

Brown posted an image of the Colette x Asics 25th anniversary Gel Lyte III “Dotty” sneaker with the caption, "This my new wave 'Asics' (look out for my collab with Asics coming soon)”

In the past, Asics has tended to collaborate with boutiques and designers like Concepts and Ronnie Fieg for KITH, but the company is now beginning to venture into collaborations with entertainers. Earlier this year, the footwear company worked with rapper and avid sneaker fan and collector, American rapper Wale.

As for Brown, he has also collaborated with fashion brands in the past, including Renowned Clothing and Pink + Dolphin, which helped Brown launch his clothing label, Black Pyramid.
